DECIDE Project
DevOps for trusted, portable and interoperable multi-Cloud applications towards the Digital single market
DECIDE Project is a European Union’s Horizon 2020 Programme that started in December 2016 and will end in November 2019. The main objective of the project is to provide a new generation of multi-cloud service-based software framework, enabling techniques and mechanisms to design, develop, and dynamically deploy multi-cloud aware applications in an ecosystem of reliable, interoperable and legal compliant cloud services.
In this project CloudBroker contributes to the development of two components of Advanced Cloud Service meta-Intermediator, which is a part of the DECIDE Framework. Advanced Cloud Service meta-Intermediator (ACSmI) is an intermediate layer that will ease the discovery and adoption of cloud services in which to deploy the multi-cloud applications and the creation of a sustainable ecosystem of legislation compliant, accredited and trustworthy applications. Some modules or functionalities that will include the ACSmI are: service discovery, service composition, legislation assessment, interoperability, identity propagation, monitoring, billing, SLA assessment, service registry, gateway and legislation databases.
CloudBroker is responsible for the development of ASCmI Contracting and Billing components. ACSmI Contracting is responsible for the execution and management of service contracting and managing Cloud Service Providers. It allows to establish contracts with cloud providers to use their resources through the DECIDE framework. ACSmI Billing is responsible for tracking the cloud resources usage information, charging users in accordance with the defined rules and providing billing and usage-related reports.
